What is TMS? | Paradise Behavioral Health

What Is TMS?

TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. It is a treatment cleared by the FDA for patients suffering from depression who have not achieved satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant treatment.

Treatment consists of 36 sessions. Each session lasts between 20-30 minutes.

  • Outpatient procedure performed in a psychiatrist’s office

  • Non-invasive, meaning that it does not involve surgery

  • Patient remains awake and alert during treatment

  • Non-systemic, meaning it does not circulate in the bloodstream like medications

The Future Of Depression Treatment
